QL2 Dance offers every year an average of 15 to 20 residencies through its Curated Residency Program to independent artists in Canberra. The residencies are worth in kind between $2,500 and $10,000 depending on the length of the residency, the performance requirements (if any) and extra support needed. The residencies include access to dance specific rehearsal and performance spaces and may include mentorship, production, management and marketing support. They offer a safe and welcoming space to create, experiment and develop new work as well as perform work in progress or full performances.

“The supportive interest and engagement with QL2 through this residency has been a major contribution in sustaining my practice through these challenging times and has also developed a relationship that embraces a continuing effort to engage in future collaborations with QL2 artists. Visiting the studios has connected me with local independent and emerging artists, an important and vital immersion into the local dance community.” Melanie Lane

"We adore working at QL2 and feel incredibly grateful to have this ongoing relationship with such an established, well run organisation. Communication has always been clear, respectful, kind and efficient, the space suits our needs perfectly and the sense of connection to the Canberra dance community is invaluable.” Eliza and Charlie Sanders, House of Sand

Ausdance ACT and QL2 have a joint commitment to the professional development of local dance artists and we look forward to sharing their creative journey.
