In 2020, for the first time in 35 years, Youth Dance Festival was cancelled. In 2021 we are thrilled to announce that our iconic Youth Dance Festival will go ahead. With a theme of 'Digital Dystopia Utopia', Ausdance ACT presents a multimedia delivery of film and live performance. Providing students with the opportunity to engage in dance filmmaking and to meet the challenges of a brave new world where we are connected out of necessity through technology.

Ausdance ACT is pleased to partner with QL2 Dance on their Curated Residency Program.

We are able to support four of QL2 Dance residencies with a $500 cash contribution towards a creative development for emerging and established artists.

QL2 Dance offers every year an average of 15 to 20 residencies through its Curated Residency Program to independent artists in Canberra. The residencies are worth in kind between $2,500 and $10,000 depending on the length of the residency, the performance requirements (if any) and extra support needed. The residencies include access to dance specific rehearsal and performance spaces and may inclue mentorship, production, management and marketing support. They offer a safe and welcoming space to create, experiment and develop new work as well as perform work in progress or full performances.

Ausdance ACT and QL2 Dance have a joint commitment to the professional development of local dance artists.
