BA(Journalism), BA, Grad Dip Ed (Secondary Education, specialising in Dance), Studio owner. Has been head of Dance at Calwell High School and specialist Dance Teacher at Namadgi School, Kambah (K-10). Kym has been teaching dance since 1998. She is very experienced in dance education business management, including human resource management. She is the Owner/Director of Bom Funk Dance Studio and published author of Frou Frou to Fruition. Her book provides industry guidance to dancers, teachers and studio owners. Kym has had a 10- year international professional dance career,including the Moulin Rouge, Paris (2004-2006); as Principal dancer and Dance Captain, Dance Encore Productions at Zenboo, Tokyo (2007-2008); and has toured to Rome, USA and Edinburgh. In 2008-2009, Kym taught dance in Hong Kong before moving to Canberra in 2010 to be Principal at a local studio and the Arts Education tutor for Dance at the University of Canberra. She specialises in boys’ dance education and has had great success running boys' dance programs in QLD, ACT and NSW. She manages Tap Kix and High Kix Cabaret,Canberra’s only pro/am tap and cabaret groups. In 2018 Kym won Canberra’s Young Business Woman of the Year and in 2019 she won Canberra’s Business Person of the Year. She has been on the Ausdance ACT Board since 2014.
