Due to COVID-19, Ausdance ACT decided not to hold Youth Dance Festival in 2020. It would have been the 36th consecutive Dance Fest at the Canberra Theatre and, just as in previous years, would have involved around 1200 dancers plus teachers and other support people plus crew - and big audiences over 3 nights.
HOWEVER, in 2020 Ausdance ACT is offering to Dance Fest schools and colleges choreographic mentoring and dance education support by Canberra-based professional dance artists, so that students can continue to develop skills and enjoy the significant benefits of dance (looking ahead to 2021...!).
So, whether or not your school has decided to make a 5-minute dance work on the 2020 Dance Fest theme (chosen pre-Covid) of ENVISION, do get in touch with Ausdance ACT if your school would like choreographic development mentoring or other dance education support. Also let us know if you would like support with filming, if your school decides to do a film. Contact us on .

YOUTH DANCE FESTIVAL
Youth Dance Festival (affectionately known as Dance Fest) is a remarkable Canberra success story and has been proudly presented by Ausdance ACT since 1985. A long-term feature on the Canberra arts and education calendar and now in its 35th year, Dance Fest boasts a second generation of participants, a proud alumni and a strong legacy. Dance Fest is a non-competitive celebration of dance that embraces differences, creativity, team work and building relationships.
Students are provided with a safe and supportive environment to be creative, self-express and partake in a rich artistic process.
