Teacher Feedback
"Ausdance ACT's Dance Artists in School Program is a great way to connect with the ACT dance community and tap into the wealth of experience and knowledge that exists within our own backyard. Ausdance ACT make the whole process straight forward and will work with teachers to tailor and access the right workshop for your needs. Having access to a range of teachers and dance styles meant that I could use the program to provide fun and different practical experiences for my students, which they loved!"
“Our Bollywood workshop with Sonia was fun, energetic, and engaging. The students were pushed to move in ways that were unfamiliar to them, but they embraced the challenge and haven’t stopped rehearsing the routine since!”
Jessica Mercer, Dance and Drama Teacher, Assistant Head of Performing Arts - Senior School, Canberra Grammar School

"Our workshops with Chip from Project Beats have been both fun and educational. Chip’s extensive knowledge and understanding of hip hop have provided our students with incredible insight into both the dance style and the broader hip hop culture. The workshops have been a weekly highlight for many of our students!"
Hannah Carey, St Francis Xavier College

"Overall, it was a great experience, the students were engaged and willing to give most things a go. Yolanda really catered to their level and went at a pace that they could follow, but also challenged them as well."
Lauren Gartside, Namadgi School

From our Dance Artists

"I had such a lovely time teaching! The students were enthusiastic, eager to learn new movements and so respectful of the different cultural dance styles." Emma Laverty - Independent Artist Indigenous Dance
‘It was such a lovely experience, and I would love to come back and teach again!’ Sonia Raveena - Independent Artist Bollywood
‘It was an absolute pleasure to be teaching. The students were challenged with movements that are highly unfamiliar to the Canberra dance scene. They focused on a group movement choreography piece rather than an individual piece, which is characteristic to classical dance forms.’ Kate Tieu - Independent Artist Classical Chinese Dance
'It was great to do some dancing and creating with so many kids at such varied ages! Their amazing enthusiasm and excitement was energising and inspiring. It was a pleasure to have a groove with them'. Alana Stenning - Independent Artist Contemporary Dance
