EMMA DYKES

Emma has over 27 years' experience in performing arts management, marketing, media relations, customer service, event planning, administration and PR. Her roles have included: Programming Manager, Marketing Manager and Publicist for the Canberra Theatre Centre, Marketing Manager for Dance Development Centre and Administrative Director for Paige Gordon & Performance Group. Emma has also worked for several other local arts organisations including Gorman Arts Centre, Canberra Youth Theatre and Eulea Kiraly and The Company.

 

Emma has served on a variety of arts boards including Canberra Dance Theatre, Australian Choreographic Centre, Kultour – Multicultural Touring Australia Council and Ausdance ACT and was the deputy convenor of the performing arts advisory committee of the Cultural Facilities Corporation.

 

She has been a finalist in the Telstra Business Women’s Award and, in 2019, in the ACT Women’s Awards and the ACT Volunteering Awards. Emma was an active member of her son’s Hawker Primary School community having served on the P&C as Vice President and as a general member and coordinated the school’s highly successful annual autumn fete (2015-2019). Emma served as the President of the Belconnen High School P&C 2021-2023 and was a member of the 2021 BHS 50th Anniversary Committee. Outside of the arts Emma has worked providing freelance marketing and event services for Strine Environments, The Social Mind and National Walk Safely to School Day. Emma currently volunteers with Roundabout Canberra, a not-for-profit organisation who work with clients experiencing hardship.
