Youth Dance Festival
We are thrilled to announce that our iconic Youth Dance Festival will be going ahead online!
Participating schools will be welcomed individually to The Playhouse, Canberra Theatre Centre to have their works filmed.
These filmed performances will then be presented along with dance films in a Premiere Online Event on Friday 19th & 20th November. A download will be made available at a later date.
Ausdance ACT Director Dr Cathy Adamek said "We have been impressed by the way the participating schools and students have remained dedicated to Youth Dance Festival and continued to work and rehearse wherever possible over lockdown. Our 2021 theme ‘Digital Dystopia Utopia’ fast became our reality and whilst you cannot replace the live performance experience, our digital strategy allowed us to pivot and weave around the restrictions with a good outcome. I'd like to thank the ACT Education Directorate for their support in helping this event to go ahead."
As we all know the COVID landscape can change rapidly so with that in mind we have put together some resources, updates and information which you may find useful in returning to the studio. We will continue to update our website HERE.

The ACT Government is seeking to support the safe return of events across the ACT, recognising their importance to our community and the visitor economy.
All event organisers in the ACT are required to develop a COVID Safety Plan for each of their events. The COVID Safety Plan must be in writing and produced on request by compliance and enforcement officers.
Events greater than 300 people must also submit their COVID Safety Plan to ACT Health for review.
